I start my warm up with a period of cardiovascular exercise to raise my heart rate and get blood pumping through my body in preparation for stretching.

This can be running, skipping or if that’s not possible an assortment of star jumps/split jumps and two-footed jumps forwards, backwards and sideways.

I will then do some dynamic stretching as shown in these photographs: arm circles forwards and backwards, hip circles clockwise and anti-clockwise, leg swings forwards backwards and sideways, lunge stretch, deep stretch and hold.
